Ever since I was a child, I have been interested in art. Every Saturday, I would get on the bus and go to the Maryland Institute of Art for drawing and painting.  But about twenty-five years ago, something happened. I fell in love with photography.

While I was getting a degree in photography I discovered that I was hooked and wanted to be in the business of creating beautiful photographs. As a portrait photographer all of my art skills became essential.  I use composition, weight, balance, color harmony and light in every portrait.  In 1988, I became a
Certified Professional Photographer; something that only 3% of photographers successfully achieve.  For the past thirty years, I have spent several weeks every year polishing my technical skills in photographic classes.

Photography is more than technical skill. It’s more than knowing how to light a face, or what lens to use or where to apply artistic ‘enhancements’.  Real photography is able to capture something else, an essence inside the person.  It’s that quality that makes a great photograph so memorable/ unforgettable.  It allows you to experience the art of photography.

My clients tell me that I have a unique vision that allows me to put people at their ease and bring out their best.  That’s why Carl and I believe in guaranteeing what we do.  If you are not completely thrilled with your photographs, we will either create additional images for you at no charge, or we will cheerfully refund all your money.

Being professional family photographers is what we do, and it’s all we do. We realized people’s memories are priceless, and we wanted to help them keep those memories sparkling and alive. We are absolutely committed to creating the finest portraits you have ever had made.
