How to get the portrait you've always dreamed of!

Now that you have had a chance to see some of the photographs in our virtual galleries, you probably have questions about how a personalized photography session would work for you.

Since everyone’s situation is unique, we recommend that your first step be to contact us. Remember, there is ‘no charge’ for our exploratory conversations. We welcome the opportunity to chat with you about what you have in mind for your special photographic portrait, and to answer any questions that you may have. You can contact us at 301.565.4900 or by email at info@barbaraglaeserphotography.com.

During the initial phone conversation, we will find out more about the portrait you want to create. We’ll ask you about the other people in your photograph, clothing and whether there are any special requirements of location or timing. Also, we'll go over general pricing.  The charges are based on the amount of time I spend with you during the session, whether we are in the studio or location and the products you wish to purchase.

Once your initial questions are answered, we’ll set up a mutually convenient time for you to stop by our warm and inviting studio for the design consultation meeting. At this meeting, we will show you some of the options we discussed on the phone. With careful collaboration, we will work with you on ideas for location, clothing, backgrounds, lighting and composition. We want you to have a clear idea as to how your photography experience will work. Again, there is ‘no charge’ for the design consultation.

“I can’t begin to tell you how thrilled I am with our finished portrait.  It is everything I had in mind when I first contacted you and will be cherished.  Your experience and guidance made all the difference, I am sure.  The entire process from beginning to end was fun and first class.”  Lynn Turner

After these preliminaries our clients tell us that they are better able to understand our service and to make informed choices about the portrait they hope to create. With twenty years of experience, we look forward to working with you every step of the way: from hair, makeup and clothing to details of display and the final framing. We are driven to create a portrait worthy of handing down for generations.
